Twelve Engineering students rusticated over fee hike protests in Telangana

The 14 students of the engineering department in the second and third year were suspended for 11 days from August 27 to September 6.

The charges levelled against them include obstructing peaceful conduct of examination, disrupting classes, vandalism, tearing of examination sheets, bringing outside elements into campus among others.
“The students are rusticated from the campus of CBIT, Kokapet Village, Gandipet, for 16 days from August 27 to September 11 (both days inclusive) and necessary instructions will be issued to the security personnel, law enforcement authorities and transport personnel to not allow them into the campus or use the college buses except on the dates of the enquiry or on prior appointment of the principal,” read the circular released by CBIT.

The rusticated students have been asked to appear before an enquiry committee on September 10 and 11 to show cause why they must not be rusticated for the time period.If they do not appear before the committee, it will be presumed that they have no explanation and action will be taken against them, the circular further read.The suspended students have been asked to appear on September 5 and 6.The joint action committee for engineering colleges parents members has decided to call for a meeting today to frame action plan against the move.
